Social Centre started a home for HIV-infected children in 2012 to respond to the needs of orphans of HIV-infected persons who have no one to take care of them. Presently, Ashakiran has 13 children (girls and boys) under special care for their rehabilitation. They are provided with all the facilities for a life with dignity. Most are infected with HIV and in need medical care and emotional support. They do their schooling in the nearby government village school; and after schooling they are given vocational training so that they can be economically rehabilitated.
