Saheli is a project for the Adolescent Girl Child. This project promotes various facilities to help adolescent girls continue their education. Since 2010, Social Centre has provided 100 girls in our project areas with bicycles to commute long distances to continue their high school education, which is lacking in their villages. These are selected from the poorest of the poor families. This programme addresses the problems of lack of adequate transportation in the project areas, as also the security risks adolescent girls face if they have to walk long distances to continue their education.
