Shelter for Homeless
Shelter is the basic need of every human being. The 2011 census counts 1.77 million homeless people in India – 52.9% living in urban and 47.1 in rural areas. Social Centre works with various partner organizations to help marginalized and poor families own a small house as security with safety for life and for their assets. Thus far, Social Centre has helped around 200 families own houses with minimum facilities. People contribute with some minimum amount or with their own labour. These families belong to the poorest of the poor and the most marginalized groups in society.
